Hobsons is a family run business. Kathleen and Eileen each have around 40 years’ experience of working with the general public and have won awards for the service they provide.
With a corner High St position which is illuminated at night we attract interest from both footfall and the internet. A sign of this success is the fact that a large proportion of our business is from referrals. These referrals are from satisfied clients who have recommended Hobsons to family and friends.
At Hobsons the client always comes first but we are very aware of the importance of the purchaser too. We have an excellent reputation and very complimentary reviews and a No tie in period, No sale no fee policy
Kathleen is the director of Hobsons Estate Agents. She has the experience of over 40 years in selling and customer service. Having worked for many large retail companies in a managerial capacity she has developed excellent customer service skills. Communication skills have always been one of her strengths along with her honesty and integrity. She has a commitment to her business and realises its success is dependent on the total satisfaction of her clients.
Her aim is to provide first class service to both the vendor and the purchaser. Kathleen has an excellent knowledge of Newton-le-Willows and the surrounding areas, which is a great asset to Hobsons and its clients.
After years of working in challenging environments Kathleen has learnt it is important to listen to what the client has to say. She appreciates both buying and selling a property can be a very emotional and stressful time. Although this is something she does on a daily basis she has not forgotten the client may only do this a few times in their life time and as such may find the process confusing and unnerving. Kathleen is therefore always ready to sit down and talk through the process and discuss any concerns a client may have.
There is not a lot of time left in Kathleen’s life for interests but she manages to take time out to enjoy dog walking, interior design, the theatre and travel. This makes her very aware that clients too have very busy lives and she is always ready to make herself available to view/value a property or attend meetings at times that are convenient to the client.
Eileen has worked in the UK and overseas. During this time she has worked in finance, sales and education. The thread which runs through all her previous positions is, the customer comes first.
Upon completion of her education she took up a position with the Nat West Bank. She remained with this company until 1997 at which time she left England for New Zealand then some years later Australia. Eventually, Eileen took up a position with the University of Queensland Business School. This provided an opportunity for further study and she completed her degree in Business in 2014.
After 40 years of working with and for the general public Eileen is very aware that there is a need to listen to what the client’s wants and needs are rather than making assumptions. Having bought, sold and packed up an entire house on more than one occasion she appreciates the stresses and strains a move may cause a family/relationship. With this in mind she regards it as part of her job to do everything she can to ease any problems.
Eileen has always engaged with the community in which she lives. She has two daughters. When they were young she took up the role of Guide Leader for a pack of Rainbows and has been a regular member of the PTA in their schools.
